Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rates for singles?
Adults traveling alone will be charged the double occupancy rate.  One adult traveling with a child will also be charged the double occupancy rate.

Do I need a passport to visit a Palace Resort?
Yes.  If you are a U.S. citizen and you are flying to a Palace Resort, make sure you have your passport with you when you get to the airport.  Effective Jan. 8, 2007, all U.S. citizens traveling by air between the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean must present a valid U.S. passport before boarding the airplane.

Do I need to learn Spanish before visiting a Palace Resort?
No.  English is spoken and understood at all Palace Resorts, throughout Cancun and the Mayan Riviera.  Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful and appreciated, though.

Is there a dress code at Palace Resorts?
No. However, depending upon the particular resort, a few of the resort restaurants may require slacks and shirt or blouse (rather than shorts & T-shirts).

Do I need to exchange U.S. currency for Mexican currency?
If you plan to spend all of your time at the resort and in Cancun, no.  But if you plan on buying items from roadside vendors along the Mayan Riviera, yes.  You can exchange money at the resort, or for the best exchange rate, use a credit or debit card at an ATM or exchange your money at a Mexican bank.

How do I get around Cancun without renting a car?
There are posted rates for Taxis at all Palace Resorts.  The least expensive means of travel within the Cancun Hotel Zone and downtown Cancun is the public bus system, which is about 6 pesos (about $0.60).  Free limited daily shuttle service is provided to the Cancun Hotel Zone from Moon Palace, Aventura Spa Palace, Playacar Palace, and Xpu-Ha Palace.

What about airfare?
Airfare is not part of the "All-Inclusive Plus" Plan. However, for U.S. travelers, reasonable rates and reservations on charter flights or major airlines can be made through World Vacation Travel (WVT, the official travel agency for Palace Resorts) in Miami, Florida. If you desire to check airfare prices through WVT, let us know when you book your lodging.

In-room baby-sitting services are available at all Palace Resorts (except the adults-only resorts) for a charge of about $10.00 per hour, plus $5.00 more for each additional child.

Can we purchase additional tours?
Additional tours (e.g., Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Dolphin Discovery, Cozumel, Jungle-Boat, Sub-See Explorer, Cozumel, Cancun Queen Dinner Cruise, etc.) are available for purchase through Palace Resorts' in-house travel agents (Elite Tours, formerly Chaza Travel) after your arrival.

Where can we play golf?
Discount rates on golf at the 18-hole Playacar Golf Club, owned by Palace Resorts and located just south of Playa del Carmen (35 miles south of the Cancun airport), are available for guests of any of the all-inclusive Palace Resorts in Cancun. Golf must be arranged upon arrival at your resort through Palace Resorts' in-house Elite Tours (formerly Chaza Travel).

The Golf Club at Moon Palace, a 7,165 yard, par 72, Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, has recently opened. Golf rounds may also be purchased for this course once you arrive at your resort.

Other 18-hole golf courses in Cancun are the Hilton Park Golf Club, Pok Ta Pok Club de Golf, and the Melia Cancun Golf Club.  The Cancun Oasis Golf Club is a 9-hole course. Puerto Aventuras, another 9-hole course,  is along the Mayan Riviera, located about 5-10 minutes from Aventura Spa Palace and Xpu-Ha Palace.
